She is an imposing figure. Not by dint of stature but her focused, piercing gaze. There is clarity to her demeanor that forces one to take Emily Basquille at her word. 

“We are giving a voice to the musicians of the world that don’t find it necessary to shout. They come with musical pallets that don’t include the burnt umbers and lamp-blacks. They stress a lightness that promotes a positive outlook.”
“Some might label that a new age sensibility,” I suggest. “Is that a fair assessment?”

“I’m not certain what that term even means,” she counters. “Let me illustrate what we do in a different way. The town where we are located, Sequim, is an ancient word from the Clallam tribe. Sequim means, peaceful waters. If you’ve ever been in a stormy sea I can assure you, you will pray for peaceful waters. For those that are worn out by the frenetic thrash of much of today’s music we like to think we provide a calm port from the raging sea.”
